Such a shame when a book with what looks like an interesting plot becomes then an unforgetable one. I love books that deal with mental issues and having 4 kids wanting to kill themselves is basically a yes yes for me but it needs to be borrid right and for what I can gather from your review, it was not so I guess I won’t be wasting my time.
I know especially when you’ve had high expectations: Ya this one was definitely not executed as good as it should have been and it’s possibly wise to give it a pass, but if you do read it let me know what you think: Crash Into Me Author: July 7 Pages: Owen, Frank, Audrey, and Jin-Ae have one thing in common: When they meet online after each attempts suicide and fails, the four teens make a deadly pact: As they drive cross-country, bonding over their dark impulses, sharing their deepest secrets and desires, living it up, hooking up, and becoming true friends, each must decide whether life is worth living–or if there’s no turning back.
But will their cross botris odyssey push them all the way over? Only the final page turn will tell, in Albert Borris’s finely-crafted tale of friendship forged from a desperate need of connection.
This was a long time ago though, a time when I didn’t really byy the books I was buying and just bought anything which interested me. Which for this book wasn’t a good idea. The plot behind the story is interesting.
YA Bookaholic : Book Review – Crash Into Me by Albert Borris
Four suicidal teens going on a road trip to ultimately end their lives. Yup I thought it was going to be good but it wasn’t. Because what else do you need to make a book good???
While some things include a nice writing style and interesting characters, both which this book lacked. The writing style, I found, never fully engaged me.
It went from the here and now to random IM messages. This which I’m guessing was a way to give the characters a back story fell flat.
Crash Into Me
In all honesty it could have been executed better, much better. So as I was saying, bby writing style was not for me. It just didn’t work for me as I read it.
The characters were neither interesting or connectable. I felt nothing for none of them. If I had to even chose a favourite, I wouldn’t be able to. That was how bad these characters were. They lacked all sense of depth and emotion and everything that would have made them connectable. This review just seems so negative but I did give this book 2 stars, which means I did finish the book, even though I didn’t necessarily enjoy it.
Crash into Me
It was a meh from me and I won’t be rereading this in the future. I probably won’t even keep it on my shelves to be honest.
